Impact-Rated Shingles From IKO
Hail is the main threat to North Texas roofs. IKO offers impact-rated shingles in several lines, including Nordic (Class 4) and Dynasty, Cambridge, and Armourshake (Class 3, with Armourshake also available in Class 4 in Shadow Black). Some insurers discount impact-rated roofs, and discounts are more common for Class 4, so ask your agent before you choose.
IKO notes that impact ratings exist to help residential owners qualify for insurance premium reductions where available. They aren't a guarantee against hail damage, and hail damage isn't covered by the shingle warranty.

I would strongly recommend Ultra Roofing. They did a great job replacing my old gravel roof with an immaculate flat-roof TPO system. It is a residential property but the flat roof is large and complex, bordering on a commercial scale project. Austin and team were very responsive, careful and skilled and they went the extra mile to ensure that the finished product is immaculate. It has been a little over a month since the job was finished and we’ve certainly had some testing weather and all is good. I am confident this TPO flat-roof system will stand the test of time.
