Storm & Hail Damage Roof Repair
Fort Worth sees severe hail and wind storms every year. We inspect and document the damage, explain your options, and complete the repair or replacement once your insurance decision is in. You file and manage your claim with your insurance company. We make sure the condition of your roof is fully documented.
Our Storm Damage Process
- 1
Post-Storm Inspection
After a storm passes, we perform a full inspection covering shingles, flashing, gutters, soffit, fascia, and siding. We document all damage with photos and measurements.
- 2
Damage Report & Estimate
We give you a photo-documented damage report and a written repair estimate to submit with your claim. You file the claim with your insurance company.
- 3
Adjuster Inspection
We're happy to be on the roof when your adjuster inspects, to show what we documented and answer questions about the roof itself. Coverage decisions are between you and your insurer.
- 4
Approved Scope & Repair or Replacement
Once your insurer issues its decision, we review the approved scope with you, schedule the work, and order materials. If the scope misses something we documented, we'll prepare a written supplement estimate with photos for you to submit to your insurer. You pay your deductible. We never waive or absorb it.
- 5
Final Documentation & Warranty
We provide final photos, warranty documentation, and a certificate of completion for your records and your insurance file.
Signs You Have Storm or Hail Damage
- Dents or divots in shingles (hail hits)
- Circular cracking patterns in shingle surface
- Missing shingles or exposed underlayment after high winds
- Dented gutters, downspouts, or roof vents
- Soft spots in decking from wind-driven rain intrusion
- Neighbors on your street are filing claims or getting new roofs
Even if your roof looks fine from the street, hail damage can shorten its lifespan by years. A free inspection gives you documentation either way. If the roof is leaking right now, see emergency roof repair.
Certified FORTIFIED Roofer
Ultra Roofing is a Certified FORTIFIED Roofer. FORTIFIED is a program from the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) focused on building roofs to better withstand severe weather.
Impact-Resistant Roofing Systems
If your roof is being replaced after storm damage, it's a good time to consider impact-rated materials. Some insurers offer premium discounts for impact-rated roofs. Discounts vary by carrier and are more common for Class 4, so ask your agent before you choose.
IKO Nordic (UL 2218 Class 4)
The highest impact rating IKO offers.
IKO Dynasty (UL 2218 Class 3)
A popular architectural shingle choice for DFW homeowners.
Armourshake & Cambridge
Armourshake carries a UL 2218 Class 3 rating (Class 4 in Shadow Black). Cambridge carries Class 3. Designer and standard architectural options.
Standing Seam Metal
Metal often holds up to hail better than asphalt shingles, though panels can still dent. Concealed fasteners and high wind-uplift ratings make it a strong option for storm-prone areas.
Synthetic Underlayment
We install synthetic underlayment as a secondary water barrier beneath shingles. It resists tearing better than felt and provides protection if shingles blow off in future storms.
Enhanced Ventilation
Proper ridge and soffit ventilation prevents heat buildup that weakens shingles from underneath — making them more vulnerable to the next storm.
IKO notes that impact ratings exist to help residential owners qualify for insurance premium reductions where available. They aren't a guarantee against hail damage, and hail damage isn't covered by the shingle warranty.

Yes. Hail damage to shingles often isn't visible from the ground. It shows up as bruising, granule displacement, or hairline fractures that shorten shingle life — which is why a professional inspection matters.
Hail around 1 inch can damage shingles, and hail at 1.5 inches or larger often does. Damage isn't always visible from the ground.
